Battlefield 1943 announced
 

It has just been announced on various newspages.

Basic facts:

- Multiplayer only
- Three locations (Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima)
- 24 players
- Frostbite™ engine (also used in Battlefield: Bad Company 2)

I don't really like the WW2 setting, but if all the good features of Battlefield 2 will be integrated (Squads, Commander,...) it might acctually be fun. And hopefully you won't have to pay for new weapons, maps, etc....
